What platforms are ARGs Desktop designed to support

Rscript produce error like R_X11.so or libSM.6.dylib not found on MacOS.

Try installing XQuartz. For those who have brew installed, you can use brew install XQuartz. For more information, please refer to Install Rscript on MacOS.

Report missing MFPlat.DLL

For Windows Server, you can check Windows Server Essentials Media Pack for more information. You might need to add Media Foundation feature.

Also please note that, ARGs Desktop currently only support Windows 7 & above.

Can not open on Linux or report error loading libm.so.6: version GLIBC_2.xx not found

If you can not open ARGs Desktop on Linux Desktop, please execute it on Terminal to view the log output, we will try to investigate it.

This might happen if your system is not so up-to-date or missing corresponding library. We are trying to make adjustments to our program to make it compatible on more devices. Please report it if you have further questions.

Can I run it on ARM devices?

Apple Sillicon: We tested on Apple Sillicon with x64 version Anaconda, but some modules like MST will run quite slow on that m1 series devices. So we recommend you to manually install arm version of Rscript.

Client runs on Windows 11 ARM, but some dependences might fail like diamond.

Some functions do not work.

It is very initial version just for preview. We will test on different platforms later. Please contact us if you have any problem.
